The main purpose of the visit was to prepare acommon project: Edit will be sharing her experience on the Egri Bikavér in the new edition of Egri Bikavér Wine Culture Magazine, which is to be published this spring by Egri Borút Association. We also shared our thoughts on wine tourism, and the operation of two associations of wine producers: the ‘Pannon Bormíves Céh’ (a country-wide one) and ‘Eger Borműhely’ (a local one).
The strong relation and dependency of wine producing and wine journalism received great focus in our discussions. A close cooperation between these two areas have a great potential in fostering fine wine tasting culture, also a more effective operation of the sector. We are experiencing a structural change in wine consumption, and expect major changes in wine tourism as well.
We received constructive thoughts on the new plans of the wine region of Eger, the renewal of its branding, the events and communication. We hope to see an increasing presence of the Eger bottle, which is an exciting opportunity to guarantee the qualityof the most known wine brand of Hungary.
