ST. ANDREA WINERY

The hundreds of memories, challenges and experiences that happened to us in these fleeting two decades are astonishing. As wine producers, we consider it a miracle in itself that we were able to survive in the challenging world of domestic grape and wine production. But we got much more than that.
In the first ten years, we were able to experience every domestic recognition. And after twenty years, we had a world-famous international experience.

Experiencing these milestones during the activities of one and then two generations is an extremely touching and important confirmation for us.
These encouragements help us a lot to believe that we are in our place.
We know that it is not only our task, but also our duty to strive to refine the wine of Eger with all our strength and to show its uniqueness to the world according to our talent.

GYÖRGY LŐRINCZ

Born: Eger, 1967.04.15.
Wife: Andrea Tóth
Children: György 1991; Anna 1992; Bálint 1994; Ákos 2003

“György Lőrincz is one of the few people who is loved by everyone because he is nice and kind. He has a harmonious life with wife Andrea, his four children and can create harmony even in his wines. The consumers and the profession appreciate his original, very fine and modern wines made in the style of Eger /having a nice acidity, transparent, non-jammy even if it is full-bodied, often mineral and intense/.” Magazine Borigo 2010

GYÖRGY LŐRINCZ Jr.

Born: Eger, 1991. 06. 22.
Wife: Lőrincz Lili
Children: György 2022

“Man rarely meets in wine world such an open-minded, thirst for knowledge, unselfish and committed youngster as Lőrincz György Jr. He already knows a lot, making good wines however his modesty and lowliness out of respect for the profession doesn’t let him to believe he has arrived. A lot of water will have flowed the bridge when the world will recognize this, but I know, I definitely know, time will come.” Kovács Pál – Debreceni Borozó Magazine 2015

OUR WINEMAKING PHILOSOPHY

WE BELIEVE EGER IS ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING WINE REGIONS OF HUNGARY. WE ARE GRATEFUL THAT WE HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO GROW GRAPES HERE.

Our most important task is to produce unique and quality wines that can only be born from this region. We make our wines with traditional and natural methods, and are led by affection and vocation. We pay special attention to the traditional varieties of our wine region, such as Olaszrizling, Hárslevelű, Furmint, Kadarka and Kékfrankos. We strive to get to know our region and to improve our grape production year by year, as well as to refine and adapt the wine production steps to the different varieties and we try to understand the essence of our earthly mission.
“Wine quality is decided in the vineyard. We would like to bring to the world very original wines by combining existing viticultural and oenological knowledge and classical methods.

I am sure that every “faithful” winemaker longs to make a product that results in a really high recognition from the point of view of the professional judgment of the wine, the estate and himself. It animates, drives and motivates us.
We want to prove that we are also capable of real creations, that we are capable of making wines that offer unforgettable pleasures.
And if someone reaches this level of quality, which he is able to maintain unbroken and steadfast for decades, his estate can rightly become a prestigious estate and his product an iconic wine, which can be an incentive for other enthusiastic winemakers.”
