Bull’s Blood of Eger is among the 50 best wines in the world

On Wednesday morning, we received the good news that on one of the world’s most prestigious wine competitions, the Decanter World Wine Awards, St. Andrea Nagy-Eged dűlő Grand Superior 2017-es Egri Bikavér wine got 97 points, won a Best in show award and making it one of the 50 best wines in the world.

At first we didn’t really understand what happened, the phones rang, friends and journalists called, inquiring with love, because what happened now is a world-class performance and an incredible result for both Eger and the Hungarian winery!

Our representative in England, Gábor Herczeg, indicated that he would look into us that day and introduce someone for us. He was very mysterious. He also appeared on the estate in the morning with the award and 3 t-shirts in his hand, which featured the recognition. We were very touched and then we really realized how big a thing had happened! With this, the wine region of Eger has been placed on the wine map of the world, which is a feedback for all of us that we have only dared to dream about so far.

With such great grace of God, we feel that a new era in the life of the Eger wine region can really begin.

The success of St. Andrea Nagy-Eged dűlő Egri Bikavér Grand Superior 2017 is a huge encouragement and very great enthusiasm for the wine region of Eger. Sándor Márai mentioned Eger on the same page as the Tuscan and Burgundy regions in the 1940s, and now the judges of the world’s most prestigious wine competition think the same. This place is blessed with its cool climate, volcanic soil and millennial vineyards, whose magnificent vineyards are the birthplace of unique wine characters.

We are grateful for this extraordinary result and have become even more confident that God has placed us in one of the best places in the world.

In the future, we would like to produce wine with even more attention, conscious and humble work and consistently represent Eger and Hungary in the international wine world.

We thank this prestigious award with a grateful heart and congratulate all hungarian winners, to our wine-producing friends!
